Product Overview
The Expiration Valve Membrane is a component of the respiratory module, it is a selective barrier that allows specific things to pass through it and restricts others. The expiration valve vents the respiratory gases from the patient to the atmosphere at the expiration phase. The valve opens after an inspiration is completed and closes before the next inspiration begins. It minimizes the leakage of aerosols (air contaminants) into the ventilator during inhalation since contaminated air harms the patient. The expiratory flow sensor measures the exhaled gas flow rate of patient. The assembly can be removed by pushing down on the latch and then pulling the exhalation valve assembly away from the ventilator. The membrane is placed on the housing of exhalation valve. The gases to be scavenged pass through the membrane. It can be easily assembled and disassembled, and minimum maintenance is required. Talcum powder is placed on sealing surface of membrane. This membrane is used in many devices such as ARC Engstrom Carestation, Anesthesia Service Parts, ADU, ARC Aisys and MS ProCare 300.
