Product Overview
The Socket Head Cap Screw is a type of cap screw that has a cylindrical head and internal wrenching features like hexagonal drive hole. The most important reason for choosing the socket head cap screws in industry are safety, reliability and economy. It is used for the application with limited space. The screw is made from low carbon steel. The screw is manufactured using high precision techniques which helps to achieve a good surface finish as well as good product consistency. The high dimensional stability of the screw ensures its precise fit in the required assembly. The carbon steel material used for the screw has good mechanical properties like tensile strength, hardness and wear resistance which ensures a long-life span for the screw. It is also zinc electroplated to enhance its corrosion resistance. Zinc electroplating is a thin coating of zinc metal that is electrodeposited onto the surface of the part. This coating forms a physical barrier that prevents rust from reaching the underlying metal surface. The screw is also treated for relief of hydrogen embrittlement. In hydrogen embrittlement the metals become brittle due to the introduction and diffusion of hydrogen into the metal.
